The survey used for this study was created by The Forum for Youth Investment for use across the nation to assess out of school time programs.  This report is a summary of United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg's implementation of the survey in our region.

Over three million cases of child abuse and neglect are reported annually in the United States. Despite these startling statistics the notion of children's rights is not well defined. This report looks at the scope of the problem in the United States, prioritizing problems, recent foster care reforms and much more.

In 2008 Homeward started asking on their bi-annual homeless point in time count whether individuals had lived on property that had been foreclosed. From July 2008 to 2009 the number of individuals who had been foreclosed on and had become homeless in the Richmond region had increased by 51%

The data presented in this brief report was collected during Homeward's 2010/2011 Winter Point in Time Count survey of homelessness in the Richmond Region. This reports finds that that 57% of adults in families experiencing homelessness in Richmond, have experienced domestic violence.
