GiveRichmond Training Session
The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia
The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia, in collaboration with GuideStar and several local private and corporate foundations, has developed GiveRichmond.org, a comprehensive, searchable database of the region’s nonprofit organizations and will be available for public use. This will be a powerful tool to share your stories with prospective donors and funders, increase awareness about the role of nonprofits in our region, and encourage charitable giving. Organizations profiled on GiveRichmond must meet the following criteria: • Public nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status. • Organizations that are located in or serve the following geographic region that includes the cities of Colonial Heights, Hopewell, Petersburg and Richmond, as well as the counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Gloucester, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Lancaster, Louisa, King and Queen, New Kent, Mathews, Middlesex, Northumberland, Powhatan, Prince George and Sussex. • File an IRS Form 990 or 990-EZ. • If you do not file an IRS Form 990 or 990-EZ, you must provide income statements and balance sheets for the past three fiscal years. Short Seminars on Public Health and Homeland Security topics
